Identify income streams related to their creative dreams, or in support of their creative dreams
I am a musician, writer, therapist, and entrepreneur. My parents rerouted the money they saved for my wedding to help me fund my first album of original music at age 16 (thanks Mom and Dad!). Since then, I've released original music and videos, performed, and toured while finding creative ways to sustain a life in the arts. I've taught and facilitated creativity and music in the community for over a decade, as well as created my private therapy practice, Grit Therapy.
I believe that life can be meaningful and wild. I am passionate about helping people find their most authentic voice, and to live a deeper, more meaningful life through creativity. I also strongly believe that artists should thrive emotionally, creatively, and financially. If you're ready to take the next step, big or small, reach out today!

Maybe you write poetry. It’s felt like an intimate secret, a desire close to the bone. Tender. Vulnerable. You’d love to get feedback from another poet, to learn and grow and maybe even publish. But you know you’d need the right person: encouraging, experienced, and above all, someone who cares about your writing.
I’m passionate about seeing poets thrive--and I'd love the chance to work with you!
I’m the author of two poetry books, Lifeguards (Conundrum Press), and Tongues of Men and Angels (White Violet Press), as well as several nonfiction books. I’ve published poetry in diverse journals such as Books & Culture, Christianity & Literature, LIGHT Quarterly, Lilliput Review, New York Quarterly, Ruminate, St. Petersburg Review, Theology Today, and many others.
I’ve also won awards for my poetry, teaching, and poetry therapy work, including NYU’s Herbert Rubin Award for Outstanding Creative Writing; Lighthouse Writers Workshop Beacon Award for Teaching Excellence; and The National Association for Poetry Therapy’s Distinguished Service Award.
Wherever you are on your poetry journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Please contact me today for a free consultation!
